Manipal, 17 December 2010: The new Deputy commissioners Office at Manipal End Point, which is in the finishing stage of construction, will be inaugurated by the end of January 2011.
According to a official working at deputy commissioners office in Udupi, B S Yaddyurappa, honourable Chief Minister of Karnataka has released Rs. 7 crores to complete the work of deputy commissioners office. Upon completion of the work, the D C Office will be inaugurated by end of January 2011.
Speaking about the new DC office, Dr V S Acharya, Higher Education Minister, said that Chief Minister B S Yaddyurappa has released the required fund to complete the construction work. He further said that 90 percent of the work is already completed and the building consists of special architecture. Originally the cost of the construction was estimated to 22 crores. But due to the increase in costs the total cost has increased to 29 crores.
Manipal end point and the road leading to the end point is a beautiful location with a lovely garden and is famous for its panoramic views and wonderful lush green landscape overlooking Swarna River winding its way to the sea. It is one of those quiet, scenic places where time comes to a stand-still.
