Cops arrest 4 including prime suspect in Anish Shetty murder case

Mangalore, May 12, 2014:  Police who are investigating into the case of murder of Anish Shetty near Kadri Park  in the city recently,  have arrested four persons include the key suspect Hemanth on May 11, Sunday.

Anish, a bus owner who was from Muloor in Bantwal taluk  was hacked to death by a gang of four which came by bikes on May 9, Friday. The police had earlier detained for questioning a driver and Deepak Lasrado who were with Anish when the attack took place.

Sources said  underworld don Koraga Vishwanath Shetty had telephoned from Dubai to claim responsibility for the killing stating  his men executed the murder. Earlier, the suspicion was that the murder was the handiwork of either Bannanje Raja or Vishwanath Shetty gang.

Information gathered has revealed that Anish had several cases registered against him and was a rowdy sheeter. It is also learnt that he used to threaten businessmen for extortion in the name of Koraga Shetty. Sources also said Anish however never handed over the amount collected to Shetty in turn angering the latter resulting in the murder.

Investigations are underway.
