Congress offers tributes to Bondala Jagannath Shetty at condolence meet

Mangalore, Aug 5, 2012: The DK District Congress Committee, minority cell, organized a condolence meeting on Aug 4, Saturday, to mourn the death of Bondala Jagannatha Shetty, former president of the district Youth Congress. 

Several JD (S) workers were also present to pay their tributes to Mr. Shetty, who was the party’s secular face. 

Moideen Bava, president of the DK District Congress Minority Cell, said that Mr. Shetty was a true Congress leader and ideal politician. Mr. Shetty was a nightmare for communal forces in DK, particularly in Puttur, he added. 

Ivan D’Souza, secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, urged the Congress not to forget the family of Mr. Shetty, who had devoted his life to the Congress. 

Mayor Gulzar Banu, former mayors Azeez and Ashraf, District Congress Secretary T. K. Sudhir, Denis D’Souza, Farooq Ullal, B. A. Idinabba, and others were also present.  

Mr. Shetty breathed his last when a tanker hit his car on July 31 at Panemangalore.
