Vinay Kumar Sorake is ideal candidate for kaup or even puttur for that matter. Excellent choice by congress . We in udupi need Sorake

One pertinent question here: does JR Lobo have enough support in his own party? Does the party consult local existing leaders before making such appointment? We need good leaders and not just Christian leaders as tokenism. J R Lobo may yet turn out to be one such leader, but the process of ‘appointing’ lacks clarity and breeds doubts in the minds of congress workers.

Very disappointed not to see Mr. Ivan D’Souza. Ivan worked hard for Congress for the last 5 years. Nothing against J R Lobo, but why Congress decides to plant candidates from nowhere come election season and then rue they don’t have grass root workers after suffering defeat? Rahul Gandhi was asked to give priority to loyal workers when he visited Maharashtra recently. On one hand Rahul Gandhi talks about building grass root democracy; at the same time KPCC President appoints a district Vice- President and appoints him as a candidate.

All candidates mentioned above are capable of winning ...Shakku Akka and Kripa Alva are women leaders faces of DKand for this thanks to Sonia Gnadhi who insisted @ least one women candidate for every MP constituency.Women fraternity has a golden chance to bring these two able candidates to Assembly cutting party affiliations. All the best and see you guys as MLAs.

Vinay Kumar Sorake’s candidature is apt and is the need of the hour. People of Kaup would be fortunate to be represented by such a tall leader. For sure the next cabinet minister . Way to go sir .Jai ho..

sad part is in India there isn’t one party thats worth praising , extreme communal behaviour, corruption, impotency in keeping up with promises or administering .... so now our only hope is the candidate who has the will to stand by his people , respect their decision and makes up to them for the past debacles.
gerald pinto, Mangalore Mon, April-1-2013, 5:19
Why Mr. Lobo , we dont expect great men like you to enter the dainty arena of politics ... do u have to be aligned with a political party to serve .. there are many successful independent candidates...
sareena kotian, mangalore Mon, April-1-2013, 5:16
this is a perfect mocktail combination with a twist... as theres a great chance of having nasty hangovers if not chosen wisely ..
