Mangalore, Nov 26, 2012: A short Kannada film called Putanigala Party was screened after the inauguration of the children’s film festival organized by the department of public instruction at Jyothi Theatre today.
Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, who was present, addressed the gathering on this occasion.



Charles D’Souza, assistant distribution officer of the Children’s Film Society, said that children’s films ought to be screened in film theatres, not just super hit and commercial films.
Twelve-year-old Jnana Aithal, winner of the Zee TV Kannada dance competition, inaugurated the film festival.
Moses Jayashekhar, deputy director of public instruction (DDPI), welcomed the gathering. Radhakrishna Bhat, mathematics content inspector of the deputy directors’ office, proposed the vote of thanks.
K. A. Dayanand, additional deputy commissioner; Shivaramaiah, block education officer for Mangalore North; and Udaychandra Shetty, sub manager of Jyothi Theatre; were also present.
