CREDAI to organize state-level convention STATECON 2012

Mangalore, Aug 21, 2012: The Confederation of Real Estate and Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) will organize the second state-level CREDAI Convention – STATECON 2012 at TMA Pai International Convention Centre on August 25, Saturday. 


Making the above announcement at a press conference held at Hotel Deepa Comfort on August 21, Tuesday, K. C. Naik, chairman of STATECON 2012, said that the convention is based on the theme “homes for all.” The event will comprise panel discussions on affordable housing, skill development, environmental conservation building code norms, single window clearance, conversion of unskilled labour to skilled labour, and other topics.

He said that CM Jagadish Shettar will inaugurate the convention at 9:00 a.m. on August 25, adding that K. S. Eshwarappa, deputy chief minister, will inaugurate the 2-day real estate exhibition. S. Suresh Kumar, national president of CREDAI, will preside. The guests of honor will be C. T. Ravi, district-in-charge minister for DK, MCC Mayor Gulzar Banu, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J. Krishna Palemar, and MLC Ganesh Karnik. 


He also said that one of the objectives of STATECON 2012 is to discuss a code of conduct to introduce discipline into the building industry. 


CREDAI President P. M. A. Razak spoke on the occasion and said that different ways to provide homes not only for mid and high income families, but also for financially backward families will be discussed during the convention. 


Qualified people will speak on topics such as affordable housing, green housing, and other subjects related to the real estate and housing development industry. The Australian Trade Commission will make a special presentation on pre-fabricated apartments to complete huge projects within the deadline while abiding by the government’s green housing and affordable housing concepts.
The exhibition will comprise 46 stalls and the organizers expect as many as 1500 delegates to take part in the event. A wide range of people associated with the real estate and housing industry such as students, architects, engineers, builders, and others will take part in the event. 


The valedictory ceremony will be held on August 26 with Urban Development Minster Kamal Nath as the chief guest. The guests of honor will be Oscar Fernandes, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC); M. Veerappa Moily, corporate affairs minister; N. Yogish Bhat, deputy speaker of the legislative assembly; MLC Monappa Bhandary; and MLA U. T. Khader. 


Pushparaj Jain, CREDAI secretary; Felix Albuquerque, the treasurer; and Rohan Monteiro were also present.
