CM declares exclusive implementation of schemes in coastal districts

Puttur , April 11, 2012 : Interacting with reporters after his visit to the Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur on April 10 Tuesday, CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda said that the Pravasi Samparka Vyavasthe and Saubhagya Sanjeevani will be exclusively implemented in the coastal districts.

Foot bridges and vented dams will be constructed in 3 coastal districts under the Saubhagya Sanjeevani scheme while a 320-km road from Kollur to Subrahmanya will be developed for the benefit of pilgrims under the Pravasi Samparka Vyavasthe.

Speaking about tobacco growers problems, he said that the state government has discussed the issue with the central government, according to which financial aid will be provided on a priority basis so that farmers can grow alternative crops in areas affected by Yellow Leaf Disease.

Promising that development work will be taken up in DK over the next 2 years because it is the CM’s district, he said that Rs. 12 crore will be spent on laying roads and bridges in Sullia, which has some of the most backward villages in the state.

Stating that the budget has been received well, he said that even the Opposition seems happy about it. Expressing his satisfaction regarding resource mobilization, he said that work undertaken by all the departments will be reviewed once in two months in the state.

He also said that he will leave on his scheduled foreign tour on April 15 to promote the Global Investors’ Meet. He also divulged his plans to lead a delegation to the centre on his return to discuss problems such as Cauvery water dispute, drought, and problems of arecanut and silk farmers.

The CM also said that he had released Rs. 1 crore for the renovation of Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur and promised to release additional funds if required.

Claiming that people are happy with his governance, he promised to continue working for social welfare as sincerely as before. Launching development projects worth Rs. 9.25 crore in his native place Mandekol, he said that he is successful because of the love and affection of his people and the support of his party.

Further listing his achievements, he said that he personally clears 500 files in two days and 2,500 files per week, adding that four taluks have received 1.74 applications under the Sakala scheme and that 1.66 of these files have been cleared.
