Bhatkal, Aug 26, 2013: As many as 50 people travelling in a bus were injured, four of them seriously when the bus rammed into a stationed lorry from the rear near Shiroor-Bhatkal border on August 25, Sunday. The bus was carrying trainees from Syndicate Institute of Bank Management, Manipal.
The passengers from different states including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Bihar were on way to Manipal after a day long trip to Murdeshwar in a Durgamba bus. The seriously injured were shifted to Manipal and Kundapur hospitals.
There were a total of 82 trainees. If 60 were travelling in the Durgamba bus, another 22 were travelling by a mini bus.
A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station limits.
