Bantwal, Sep 22, 2023: Two mobile phones belonging to a police officer who had been hospitalized in Bantwal government facility due to illness were recently stolen.

Devaraj, a head constable from the Melkar traffic police station, who was admitted to the Bantwal General Hospital’s ICU on September 17 for medical treatment. On September 19, he was transferred to a general ward within the hospital. While Devaraj was sleeping in the ward, his two mobile phones were stolen.

The theft was captured on the hospital’s CCTV footage. The individual seen in the video is believed to be the same person who, a week prior, had approached an elderly woman at the hospital, requesting the use of her mobile phone for an urgent call and subsequently absconded with it. A photograph of the suspected mobile phone thief has been prominently displayed on the hospital walls, urging anyone who may encounter this individual to promptly inform the local authorities or the police.
