Mangalore, June 17, 2013: Urban Development Minister and Udupi District Minister In-charge, Vinay Kumar Sorake has said that he would visit every district of the state before June 30 to know the problems and necessities of the people as far as his department was concerned, and work accordingly.
Addressing press persons at the District Congress Office in Mangalore on June 17, Monday, Sorake said steps would be taken to include Mulki and Bajpe in Mangalore City Corporation limits.
He said he thought it fit to meet the party workers and elected representatives of MCC before meeting the MUDA officials in Mangalore.
Revealing that the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi had assured him of a deserving post in the AICC whether he won the election or not, Sorake thanked the party chief Sonia, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and senior leaders Veerappa Moily, Oscar Fernandes and Janardhan Poojary for giving him an opportunity to serve the people.
Sorake said that people who have constructed houses on government lands and have been living there since 10 to 15 years, will be given the title deeds.
Referring to the second vented dam in Mangalore, Sorake said funds would be sanctioned to complete the project at the earliest.
He said a review meeting will be held in Mangalore once in every three months and all officials will have to mandatorily attend the meeting.
