Mangalore, April 12, 2013: It seems the Congress in the district, which was witness to some dissidence soon after the announcement of the candidature of JR Lobo in Mangalore South, has once again decided to put up a united front.
Ashraf who was part of a protest organised by Ivan supporters recently opposing Lobo’s candidature, on April 12, Friday, convened a press meet at Press Club, Urva and said all party workers and leaders would work unitedly for the success of JR Lobo, the party candidate. “ All differences regarding the candidature have been sorted out.” “ Ivan who has just returned from Bangalore too will join the campaigning very soon,” he said.
Ashraf also stated that all party leaders and workers would respect the decision of the high command. He claimed that JR Lobo was the right candidate for Mangalore South and said Lobo worked zealously as the Commissioner of MCC and Director of KUDCEMP when he served the city as its Mayor. He assured that JR Lobo would strive for the development of the constituency if elected.
Coming down heavily on the BJP rule in the state, he said the common man has only suffered hardship during the tenure. He alleged Yogish Bhat, during his four terms as MLA had failed do anything for the constituency.
