The contractor and the engineer who are in charge of the work discussed various issues related to the work with Mr. Bhat and Dr. Gowda.

Later, Mr. Bhat told reporters that an estimated Rs. 3.75 crore is required for the renovation of the stadium. Stating that the synthetic track is being constructed as per international standards, he said that 4 to 5 more months are required to finish it and that it will most likely be inaugurated on November 1 on the occasion of Kannada Rajyothsava.

Further, he said that this project is being given top priority and that everybody concerned is working day and night to make the stadium one of the best in the state.

Speaking about the project, the DC said that the track will have two dimensions, adding that no compromise is being made on the quality.  He also urged the concerned officers to keep track of the number of water tankers used to strengthen the track’s concrete foundation so that it can be easily ascertained if the track is being constructed as per international standards.

The officers later visited the new walking track near the borders of Mangala Stadium. This track has been constructed for the benefit of senior citizens who find it difficult to get their daily exercise inside the stadium, which is the hub for training sessions and sports meets.

The DC and the deputy speaker were accompanied by Thejomaya, Manjunath, H. Parshwanath, Raju Velu, and many others.
