Mangalore, Nov 28, 2012: Giridhar Kamath announced that the sixth edition of the Rxlife BSA Hercules Cycle Rally 2012 will begin at Lady Hill Circle and end at Bejai Kapikad School on Dec 2, Sunday at 6:30 a.m.
Addressing the press today, Mr. Kamath, the organizer of the event, said that the rally will pass through Kottara, Kuloor, Panambur Beach Road, Nandaneshwar Temple Road, NMPT Colony, and Customs House Road before ending at Bejai Kapikad School at 9:00 a.m.
The rally, which had only 240 cyclists taking part in 2007, attracted over 1400 cyclists last year. The organizers expect over 1800 participants this year. Clarifying that the rally is neither a race nor a competition, he said that it is just an opportunity to ride for around 20kms and explore the beautiful suburbs of the city.
The objective of the rally is to provide opportunities for young people to improve their riding skills and road reflexes.
Those interested in taking part must fill in an entry form at Rxlife in Mannagudda. Entry is free for all participants above the age of 10. Each cyclist gets an identity number and card. Three lucky riders will get a free BSA Hercules cycle. Besides, the organizers will serve breakfast and give away many more prizes at Bejai Kapikad School from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The organizers have arranged water points, orange points, Novel TVS Rangers on wheels, dry fruit points, juice points, ambulances, and first aid teams from KSHEMA, pilot jeeps, and cycle rescue vans.
BSA Hercules, Corporation Bank, Ideal Ice Cream, Karnataka Bank, and others are the sponsors of this event.
Youth Hostels Association of India, rickshaw stands, Team Mangalore, and others are helping the organizers. Coordinators Vandana Nayak and Dr. Gayathri Bhat were present.
