MLA U. T. Khader raised the home stay attack issue and asked C. T. Ravi to inform the meeting about the progress made on this issue after C. Manjula, chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, submitted a report blaming the victims of the attack to the government. C. T. Ravi responded that the query is not related to the present meeting, the agenda of which was to take stock of development activities in the district. When MLA U. T. Khader persisted, he said that he will answer the question after the meeting, but never did.

Assuring the gathering that justice will be done to farmers, he said that the state government hasn’t given the authority to any company to forcibly evict farmers from their land. A meeting will be held between the farmers and concerned authorities and the displaced farmers will be amply compensated, he said. He said that GAIL’s pipeline project belongs to the central government and an aerial survey for the same has not yet been done.

Regarding Volvo bus service to and from Bajpe Airport, DC Channappa Gowda said that the service has been discontinued because it has no takers.

C. T. Ravi instructed concerned officials to fill potholes and repair roads at the earliest possible, to conduct surveys of flood-hit areas and access damage, to avoid purchasing adulterated fertilizers, and to complete the vented dam project by the end of this year.

Among those present were Mayor Gulzar Banu, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, MLA Yogish Bhat, ZP President Shailaja K. T., Dhanalaxmi Janardhan, and many others.
