Yuva Morcha stages Rasta Roko demanding repair of Tokkottu-Babbukatte road

Mangalore, Nov 14, 2013 : Several members of the general public as well as autorickshaw drivers staged a Rasta Roko at Tokkottu on November 13, Wednesday under the aegis of the BJP Yuva Morcha demanding the repair of the Tokkottu-Babbukatte road which has been dug up for underground drainage works.

Addressing the protestors, former MLA Jayaram Shetty warned that a 24 hour Rasta Roko agitation would be organised if the authorities failed to take up the repair works within the next ten days.

Blaming the state government for its negligence in repairing the road, he alleged that the officials who had assured repair after a protest was held six months ago, have not yet kept their promise. The bad state of the road has led to frequent accidents while the dusty area has also posed health hazards,he said.
