Youth must be attracted towards literature: Health Minister UT Khader

Mangalore, Nov 24, 2013: There can be revolutionary changes in the field of literature if more and more youth are attracted towards the field and are enlightened about the significance of literature, said UT Khader, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare.

 

 

He was speaking after inaugurating the Eighth District level Chutuku Sahitya Sammelan and state level limerick poets meet held at the Mangaladevi Auditorium in Mangalore on November 23, Saturday.

The Health Minister also  emphasized the need to encourage  students to develop interest in limericks.

The Sammelan was earlier inaugurated by Ganesh Rao, Founder President of Karavali Group of colleges.

Eminent writer Prof. NG Patavardhan, presided over the Sammelan.A book exhibition organised on the occasion was inaugurated by MGR Urs, Principal Convenor of Kendra Chutuku Sahitya Parishat.

Veteran writer Prof B V Arthikaje, folk scholar Vi.Ga. Naik,  Kaustuba Editor Ratna Halappa Gowda,  former Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor, DK District Chutuku Sahitya Parishat President Nemu Poojari and others were present.
