Mangalore, Oct 10, 2012: The pediatric centre of Wenlock Hospital observed World Mental Health Day on Oct 10, Wednesday. This day is dedicated to spreading awareness on psychological diseases and the importance of mental health education.
The department of psychiatry of KMC in association with Wenlock Hospital and Manaswini, Thunga Institute of Psychiatry, organized this event. Various contests such as paper presentation, poster making, and psychiatry quiz formed part of the event.
Ashok G. Nijagannavar, principal district and sessions court judge, presided over the valedictory function. Deputy Mayor Amitha Kala, KMC Associate Dean Dr. Vivian D’Souza, surgeon Dr. P. Saroja, and others were also present.
Dr. Rameela Shekar, professor and dean of the PG department in Roshni Nilaya, delivered the keynote address.
Dr. Ravish Thunga, professor and HOD of psychiatry at KMC; Dr. Keshav Pai, associate professor at KMC, and many others were also present.
