Mangalore, Sep 20, 2013: National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) in association with Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Karnataka Rajya Vignana Parishat, Bangalore will organize Karnataka Cluster Level workshop on Development of Scientific Temper and Dmystification of Miracles at ISD, Nanthur from September 23 to Sep 27.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Sep 20, Friday Prof Narendra Nayak, principal investigator of the workshop said that Minister for Health and Family welfare will inaugurate the workshop, while MLA J R Lobo will preside over the event.
Dr Vivian D’Souza, Association Dean Kasturba Medical College will be the chief guest and Prof Narendra Nayak will deliver the key note address on the occasion.
He also said that the five day workshop will consist of three trainees from each of the cluster of 12 districts of Karnataka who will be assembling at Mangalore for interactive training on methods of creating awareness among people by explaining various so called miracles, how people are taken for a ride exploiting their lack of knowledge and so on. They will be trained on effective communication, leadership and rational thinking. Many dignitaries from the field of Psychiatry, medicine, architecture and law will be the resource persons on the occasion.
