Mangalore, Aug 24, 2012 :A woman, who was rushed to the hospital after she fainted on her way to work, died of heart attack, allegedly due to medical negligence.
Anitha (35) of Bengre in Tannirbhavi fainted near Gokarna College when she was on her way to work. A school teacher, with the help of some other people, helped her into an auto rickshaw and informed her family members and friends.
The lady was taken to Ullal General Hospital in Kudroli, where Dr. Bhagyalakshmi, a trainee doctor, examined her. Reportedly, the lady was examined by trainee doctors as qualified doctors were absent. Anitha, who was fully conscious when she was brought to the hospital, died ten minutes after she arrived because of cardiac arrest.

According to sources, the hospital did not have any adequate facilities to deal with emergency cases.
Beena, head (administration) of Veenu Aluminium Pvt. Ltd. in Mannagudda, where Anitha used to work, visited the hospital and had an altercation with the doctors.
The Barke police also arrived on the spot.
