She also alleged that their clothes were burnt down and all things thrown out of the house and added since then the two  have been staying in the house of one Harishchandra Nayak.

According to Sylvia, she who was a tenant of a house under Father Muller Charitable Trust (Kankanady ‘B’ Gram, survey no 45.1) for 40 years had  purchased five cents of land in 2003 and transferred the same in her name.

She said Titus who was living in a rented house nearby always used to claim that Sylvia’s house belonged to him and harass her. She said on April 29, the Kankanady Circle Inspector and a few other personnel arrived and produced a notice stating that it was a court order as per which the house belonged to Titus and allowed him to stay in the house.

She said earlier she had approached Lokayukta, Human Rights Commission as well as Mangalore Police Commissioner who referred the case to the ACP. However, the latter said it was a civil case  and that the  court had to decide.

Sylvia’s daughter Sonia and Harishchandra Nayak were also present.
