He also criticized the BJP for playing caste politics and bowing to the demands of the Lingayath community to replace Gowda with Jagadish Shettar, the state rural development minister.

Speaking on the occasion, S. N. Narayana Gowda, president of the sangha, said that the sangha condemns the removal of D. V. Sadananda Gowda from the post of CM just because of the demands of B. S. Yeddyurappa, former CM of Karnataka, and his supporters. He pointed out that the DK public representative of the BJP has not even raised his voice against the removal DVS and has hurt the feelings of members of his community, who live in large numbers in Belthangady, Sullia, Puttur, and Vittal. He warned the BJP that it will lose heavily in the next elections because of its caste politics.

On behalf of the community, he demanded that CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda must be allowed to continue as CM, adding that, even if he is removed, he must be given the post of state president of the BJP. Moreover, the BJP high command must give proper reasons for removing DVS from the post of chief minister.

P. Vasudeva Gowda, former president, and DP Sadananda Gowda, treasurer, were also present.
