Vitla, Jun 29, 2026: A couple had a narrow escape after a roadside tree and an electric pole collapsed onto their moving car near Padibagilu on the outskirts of Vitla on Monday morning.
According to reports, the couple travelling in the car escaped without any injuries.
A tree standing along the roadside at Padibagilu suddenly fell onto an electric pole. The impact caused the pole to collapse after the tree landed on the power lines. At the same time, a Swift car travelling from Kudpadu towards Vittla came under the falling tree and electric pole. The front portion of the car sustained damage in the incident.
The incident disrupted traffic on the state highway for some time, bringing vehicular movement to a halt.
Police personnel, MESCOM staff, and local residents later removed the fallen tree and electric pole from the road, following which traffic on the highway was restored.
