Vijayanath Shetty to join Congress at huge convention at Kaikamba on Dec 16

Mangalore, Dec 14, 2012: Shetty, eminent social worker, entrepreneur and President of the Bajpe Bunts Association, will be formally joining the Congress party on December 16. Shetty is also the Trustee of Shastavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple, Badaga Edapadavu.

Informing this to reporters, Vijaykumar Shetty, Congress leader and former Suratkal MLA, said  several others including  Noor Mohammad Hussain, a former Excise Deputy Commissioner and Ullas Rai, a retired general manager of Vijaya Bank, would be joining the party on the same occasion. They will be formally inducted into the party at the Congress Convention to be held at Vamanjoor Kaikamba near the Polali Dwara on December 16, Sunday under the aegis of the Suratkal and Vamanjoor Block Congress Committees. He said the Convention which will be chaired by DCC President and MLA Ramanatha Rai will be attended by several senior leaders including B Janardhan Poojari, Union Minister Veerappa Moily and Raja Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes.

Vijaykumar Shetty said the disillusionment against the BJP rule was forcing more and more people to join the Congress party. He also alleged that development has taken a back seat in BJP ruled states like Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Congress leaders TK Sudhir, PV Mohan, Abdul Azeez Basha, Prithviraj and others were present at the press meet.
