Valuables worth Rs. 8.2 lakh stolen from Anugraha Jewellers

Mangalore, July 12, 2012: A gang of thieves broke into a jewelry store on Kinnigoli Main Road on July 12 Thursday and stole gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 8.2 lakh.

They used a hydraulic jack to break into Anugraha Jewellers, which belongs to Pratviraj Acharya, and stolen 170gms gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.68 lakh and silver worth Rs. 3.52 lakhs.

 

Theft


The CCTV had recorded the theft and video footages of the burglary are available, showing that the shop was broken into between 1:58 a.m. and 2:35 a.m.

The owner of Yugapurusha Building, in which Anugraha Jewellers is located, had appointed a night watchman, but he was on leave the night of the burglary.

Puttamadayya, Panambur ACP; Basheer Ahmed, circle inspector of Mulky; and Sunil, sub inspector, visited the store. The Mulky police are now investigating the theft.
