Mangalore, Dec 25, 2012: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhan Poojary said that Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple at Kudroli will hold ‘Urulu Seve’ on January 1, 2013 to protest against the inhuman Made Madesnana ritual.

Speaking to media men at Press Club on Dec 25, Tuesday he said the temple administration will also honour a schedule caste woman and allow her to offer padapooja to a deity on that day. Poojari said this is done to symbolize that people of all castes and faiths are equal before God and also to give woman her due respect in this nation which worships mother who is a life giver.

Referring to the Lokayukta raid on the residence of Deputy CM KS Eshwarappa, Poojari demanded the Deputy CM’s resignation and allow fair investigation for the prima facie case against him. He also pointed out how the BJP had earlier demanded the resignation of the then CM Yeddyurappa for his involvement in corruption case and said likewise the BJP  high command must now ask Eshwarappa also to quit.

Poojary said the Governor should dismiss Eshwarappa within the next 24 hours in case he fails to resign on his own. “The FIR registered against Eshwarappa is a shame on the post he is holding,” Poojari observed.

He alleged that the BJP was fooling the people of the state through the formation of the KJP and predicted that the BJP and KJP will come together after the elections.

He further said that there was no question of the Congress entertaining the KJP or seeking its support in the coming elections. He also said that senior writer and critic Ananthamurthy has hurt his followers by joining KJP.

“Both the RSS and BJP are controlled from Kalladka by Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat and it is he who decides the victory and defeat of the election,” Poojari alleged.Yeddurappa is planning to bring Modi to Karnataka to campaign for KJP party and people of Karnataka are not fools to follow him. Modi speeches in Karnataka cannot change anything,” he said.

Congress leaders, Kallige Taranath Shetty,  Suresh Ballal, Mohammed Badruddin and Arun Coelho were present at the press meet.
