Udupi, Aug 27, 2013: An unidentified body was found inside a room at UPCL (Nagarjuna) Labour Colony on August 26, Monday.


Reportedly, the room belonged to the three workers from Uttara Kannada, hired by UPCL for garden work on August 24, Saturday. On Monday August 26, the workers were supposed to complete their remaining work, but their absence to the duty has made Dolhpy D’Souza, the supervisor to move into their place and inform to be back to their work.

When Dolphy knocked on the door, none of them responded, hence he peeped through the window and was shocked to see an unidentified man was brutally murdered by hitting a stone on the face making the body disfigured. After the incident, the other two labourers are said to be absconding.


Dolphy immediately informed the police. Karkala DySP Jayanth Shetty, Additional DySP Savitha P Hoogar, Kaup CPI Shivanand Valikar, Padubidri SI Mahadeva Shetty and Shirva SI K R Nayak along with Finger print experts and canine squad rushed to the spot.


The deceased seems to be around 35 to 40-year-old and his identity is yet is ascertained.


Padubidri Police have registered the case.
