Ullal, May 9, 2013: An attempt to disrupt communal harmony by placing a severed limb of a cow on the Tulasikatte of a house, has been reported from near Someshwar Uchilapete near here. Some unidentified miscreants had earlier stolen a cow and a calf from the cattle shed of one Sudhaker Malya on the night of May 8 Wednesday and had placed the severed limbs of another cow on the Tulasikatte.
The incident came to light when Sudhaker’s wife Padmavathi came near the Tulasikatte to pray in the morning. The occupants of the house later found the cow and calf missing from the shed.
Local MLA UT Khader visited the spot and assured to that a thorough probe would be undertaken into the case. He also requested the locals to maintain pace.
Cops come in way of scribes : It is learnt though the residents of the house had informed the Ullal police in the afternoon, they arrived at the spot only after the local MLA UT Khader visited the house and telephoned them. There are reports that the inspector also tried to prevent the scribes from taking photographs. It has been learnt that recently the inspector had also come in the way of the scribes in taking photographs of a house where a major burglary was reported.
There is also an allegation that the local police were apathetic towards the several cases of cattle thefts reported from the place.
