Speaking to reporters here on May 2, Thursday, he  also came down heavily on the BJP government in the state for failing to act upon the Lokayukta  report on mining scam. The Lokayukta report had recommended that a total of Rs. 22,000 crore be recovered from those accused in the mining mafia scam, within three month’s time. But the BJP government did nothing, he said.

Ugrappa further stated that the Congress government would surely implement the report if it came to power in the state.

He was also highly critical of  Gujarat Chief Minister’s  address in Mangalore and charged Modi of adopting a sadist approach for campaigning in the state.

He further made a mockery of KJP Chief and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa by stating that he will soon become the Kalyan Singh of Karnataka.

To  a question on the statement made by senior Congress leader Siddharamiah that  the Congress would withdraw the cow slaughter bill proposed by the BJP  government, Ugrappa said that the cow slaughter law of 1964 was already in force and there was no need for a separate law.
