In his address, Kota Shrinivas Poojary expressed his gratitude to his supporters and well-wishers and shared his political experiences. Stating that he was only a GP member when he entered politics for the first time, he said that he then became a Taluk Panchayat (TP) member and finally a minster. Admitting that he has never met a single national leader so far, he said that he will always follow in the footsteps of state BJP leaders.

Stating that he had gone to Bangalore as a supporter of Halady Shrinivas Shetty, he said that Eshwarappa, deputy CM and leader of the state BJP, informed him that he has been appointed as a minister in Shettar’s cabinet. He said that neither was he ready for the post nor had he asked for it, but BJP leaders Captain Ganesh Karnik and Ananth Kumar confirmed that he had indeed been chosen to be part of the cabinet. Remembering the late Dr. V. S. Acharya on the occasion, he said that he will try and follow in the footsteps of Dr. Acharya.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Raghupathi Bhat said that Mr. Poojary is one of the most honest members of the BJP, adding that he will definitely complete all the projects and initiatives launched by Dr. V. S. Acharya.

A. G. Kodgi, chairman of the task force to implement the recommendations of the third finance commission, said that Dr. Acharya’s soul can now rest in peace because he has been succeeded by an able person.

In his address, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel complained that the media is only highlighting the negative aspects of the BJP, but not its achievements. Stating that the BJP has proved that even ordinary people can become ministers, he said that this rarely happens in other parties. The BJP considers only ability and not caste, economic status, and community while selecting its ministers, he claimed.

Several BJP leaders such as Lalaji Mendon, Captain Ganesh Karnik, Kiran Kumar, Sulochana G. K. Bhat, and others were present.

Interaction with Media
Later, Kota Shrinivas Poojary interacted with the media and said that he will give top priority to maintaining cleanliness in temples and completing projects launched by late Dr. V. S. Acharya.

Commenting on the resignation of Halady Shrinivas Shetty from the position of MLA, he said that the party had tried its best to prevent Mr. Shetty from resigning.

When asked about the absence of Halady Shrinivas Shetty at the felicitation party, he said that Mr. Shetty would have definitely attended, but was too busy in Bangalore.

Later, Mr. Poojary visited a few temples.
