Udupi, Aug 15, 2025: The 79th District Independence Day celebrations were held on Friday at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium in Ajjarkad.
Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Karnataka Minister for Women and Child Development and Udupi District In-charge Minister, hoisted the national flag and received the guard of honour.
After delivering the Independence Day address, the minister honoured meritorious SSLC and PUC minority students.
MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi Urban Development Authority Chairman Dinkar Herur, District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee Chairman Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Deputy Commissioner Swaroop T.K., Zilla Panchayat CEO Prateek Boyal, Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal, officials from various departments, and schoolchildren were present on the occasion.
