Udupi : IFKCA Awards presented to outstanding achievers

Udupi, March 1, 2013 : “Every religious is unique in its own way. But today our religions are not doing what they ought to do,” regretted Dr JS Sadananda, Bishop of Church of South India, said.

He was presiding over the IFKCA Award presentation ceremony held at the Christian High School on behalf of the Udupi Branch of the International Federation of Christian Associations here on February 28, Wednesday.

“ Our deeds are more important than our religion. We are working towards the welfare of the society with a secular ideology and to reach the benefits to everyone in the society,” he said adding our lives would be meaningful only when we contribute to every section of the society.

William Pinto, social worker, advocate and human rights activist, RL Dayas of Railway Yatri Sangha, Pastor Sunil D’Souza who is working towards rehabilitating mentally ill persons were conferred the IFKCA Awards on the occasion.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, of Udupi Catholic Diocese, Frank Fernandes, entrepreneur, Jerry Vincent Dayas, President of Karavali Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Luis Lobo, Neri Carnelio and others were present.
