Udupi, Nov 8, 2013 : It was nothing short of a miracle. A newborn premature baby which was pronounced dead by doctors, was found alive minutes before it was supposed to be cremated on November 6, Thursday.
Manjula and her husband Nagaraj from Bellary, both quarry workers at Bantakal near Shirva had been to a hospital for check-up as Manjula was six months pregnant. At the hospital, Manjula developed labour pains and delivered a baby very soon.
As the child was premature doctors advised that it be taken to Manipal Hospital.
Accordingly, the couple took the child to KMC Hospital, Manipal where doctors declared it dead. The agonized couple were making arrangements for the cremation of the child and decided to have one final look at the baby before cremation.
