Udupi DC directs all panchayats to hold awareness drives to check vector-borne diseases

Udupi, May 15, 2014: Muddumohan, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district has warned stringent action against those failing to dispose the wastes collected after wedding and other ceremonies in Kalyana Mantaps and public places.

Participating in a meeting held at his office on May 14, Wednesday in the presence of Health Department officials, the Deputy Commissioner said maintenance of cleanliness after a function is a challenging task and the programme organisers themselves will be held for any discrepancy.

He also directed the officials to conduct awareness programmes on SVEEP model with the co-operation of the Department of Health and respective panchayats to take preventive measures to check the spread of diseases.

Kanagavalli, ZP CEO, Dr Ramachandra Bairi, Distrcit Health Officer, Rohini, Information Officer, Dr Anand Nayak, District Surgeon and others were present.
