Mangalore, Nov 1, 2013: The two-day IT Expo, the first ever such event in the port city of Mangalore,was inaugurated by former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda at TV Raman Pai Hall in Mangalore on November 1, Friday. The expo has been organised by Mangalore IT Dealers’ Association.
In his inaugural address, Sadananda Gowda said going by the progress registered by Mangalore in the IT sector, there were all possibilities of the city following the footsteps of Bangalore considered the IT capital of India.






He also urged the government to implement the recommendations of the Chidanandamurthi Committee on developing Kannada software for administrative use.
Kethan Chandran, President of Mangalore IT Dealers’ Association, Sujay Monteiro, Vice President, Arun Prabhu, Treasurer, Devananda Pai, entrepreneur and others were present.
Over 35 renowned companies including HP, Toshiba, Intel, Nokia, Sony, Lenovo, Wipro, Airtel and Canon will take part in the Expo and display their products ranging from Laptops, Smartphones, Tablets, Security System, Energy System, networking products, gaming devices, printers, softwares and other IT related products.
