Two arriving from Dubai at Mangalore Airport caught with gold in their shoes

Mangalore, June 04, 2014: According to a press note, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at the Mangalore International Airport (MIA) seized gold weighing four Kilograms valued approximately at Rs 1.2 crore concealed in the shoes of two passengers. Ibrahim Kaleel Kunhi and Ussainar Kudva, both are residents of Kasargod arrived at Mangalore Airport on June 3, at 10.00 pm, by Air India Express Flight IX 384 from Dubai.

Ussainar Kudva was caught by DRI with gold weighing 2466.60 grams, worth Rs 60 lac, was in the form of two bars and four pellets and two gold bars from Ibrahim Khaleel worth Rs 54.2 lac. Both of them were arrested and produced before the Principal Civil Judge Senior Division and Chief Judicial Magistrate N S Patil. The both the accused has been remanded to judicial custody till June 17.
