Two Salesian priests die in tragic road mishap in Tumkur

Mangaluru, July 20, 2015 : A road mishap reported from near Tumkur on July 18, Saturday evening has claimed the lives of two  Salesian priests while injuring four others.


2 Salesian priests  die in tragic road mishap in TumkurThe deceased are Fr Thomas Mailadore (82), former Parish Priest of Pavoor Holy Cross Church near Manjeshwar and Fr Madleduttu Arulappa, Principal of  Don Bosco School, Tumkur.


Fr Thomas was instrumental behind constructing the new building of the Holy Cross Church and was the second provincial of Bengaluru Salesian Province.


The mishap occurred when the two were heading towards Tumkur in a vehicle after completing a Retreat at Ajjanahalli about 110 km away from Bengaluru. Their vehicle overturned after the driver lost control over the vehicle.


Both died on the spot. A total of seven persons including six priests and a brother were in the vehicle. The injured are Fr CV George, Fr Tomy, Fr Nitin George and Fr Pais.

The accidents are increasing though know the effect drive rashly. Why do you drive so rashly when you cannot have control on the vehicle your driving. Here the driver himself has to be blamed.
