Twitter campaign seeking official language status for Tulu gets great response

Mangaluru, Jun 14, 2021: Following a call given by various Tulu organisations, there was a rigorous Twitter campaign in Karnataka and Kerala on Sunday demanding  official language status to the language in both the states. "TuluOfficialinKA_KL" hashtag became trending in Twitter with over  1.8 lakh people tweeting in favour of Tulu and in support of the language.

 

Jai Tulunadu, Yuva Tulunadu and various  other organisations  had joined hands in launching this campaign with the hope that it would also help  in  pressurising the authorities to include Tulu in the Eighth schedule of the Constitution.

Tweets in support of the demand poured in since morning and the hashtag became the sixth most  trending hashtag in the world by afternoon.

Several Tulu actors, District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel,  sitting as well as former MLAs had joined hands in this drive.
