Twin jatha by CPI(M) seeking CBI probe into Dharmasthala cases kick starts from Sullia, Belthangady

  Sullia, Nov 22, 2013 :   The Jatha by foot  organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from  Sullia to Mangalore, demanding a CBI probe into all the suspicious death cases in Dharmasthala and Ujire villages along with the Sowjanya case, was flagged off at Sullia on November 21, Thursday.

Sri Siddabasava Kabirananda Mahaswami of Gulbarga Singarahalli Marulashankera Devara Gurupeetha inaugurated the jatha.

CPI(M) State Secretariat Board Member KR Sriyan handed over the party flag to   Jatha leader and CPI(M) District Secretariat Board Member Vasantha Achari.

Speaking on the occasion, Kabirananda Mahaswami said it  is a tragedy that such  a massive movement  has to be organised for justice in the case of the rape and murder case of an innocent girl. He said the  fact finding in this case is obstructed due to some influential forces and therefore  a fight was inevitable.

Continuing, the seer said they were not pointing fingers at anyone, but are aware that evidences have been destroyed in this case. He also said the suspicious deaths in the area have come to a halt ever since the Sowjanya movement has kicked off.

He further said it is inevitable to launch a ceaseless fight until justice is done.

He also made a strong case for the implementation of the Anti-Superstition Bill. Party leaders KR Sriyan,  Sunil Kumar Bajal  also spoke. Several leaders including DYFI District Secretary Dayanand Shetty, Janavadi Sanghatane’s District President Padmavathi Shetty, SFI District President Nitin, CPI(M) leaders Krishnappa Salian,  Richard Crasta and others were present.

In Belthangady : The CPI(M) jatha from Belthangady to Mangalore was flagged off from the residence of Sowjanya on November 21, Thursday. CPI(M) District Committee Member UB Lokayya handed over the flag to Jatha leader BM Bhat.
