Mangaluru, Aug 03, 2021: In the backdrop of rise in Covid cases in Dakshina Kannada district, the administration has initiated some stern measures. On August 2, Monday, as many as 51 passengers who had come from Kerala and Maharashtra without a negative RT-PCR report were placed under temporary quarantine at the Town Hall where their throat swabs were collected. Women were allowed to return home with a strict warning to be in quarantine until their reports are out.
The male passengers will be kept at Town Hall itself until their reports arrive. Similar measures would be taken at all railway stations, DCP Hariram Shanker has said.
