A neighbor who heard some noise in the house informed the owner who in turn passed on the information to a friend of his. Locals who gathered at the scene, they caught hold of the three, beat them up and handed them over to the police.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that the police arrived an hour later though informed on time and that they even hesitated to take the trio to custody. The apathy of the police personnel despite rising thefts in the area, has invited the ire of the locals.
