Thousands of devotees throng Infant Jesus shrine for annual feast

Mangalore, Jan 15, 2013 : Thousands of devotees thronged the Infant Jesus shrine at Carmel Hill, Bikarnakatta on January 14, Monday, to join the celebrations as part of the annual feast of the shrine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seven masses in Konkani, Kannada, English and Malayalam were held in the shrine. Dr Cyprian Monis, Bishop of Asansol West Bengal celebrated the festive mass along with 50 concelebrants.

In his homily, Fr Rajesh D’Souza, Director Carmel Jyoti Trust, Bellary, said we can lead a successful and meaningful life  provided we have faith in God, serve the poor and downtrodden and imbibe noble virtues.

He stressed on the need for devotees to rediscover the faith in Jesus Christ and his teachings.
Fr Pius, superior general of Carmelite Fathers, Infant Jesus Shrine  was among others present on the occasion.
