Mangalore, November 17: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said that there is no question of changing leadership and asserted that he will complete his five-year term in office. He was interacting with media persons after arriving at Mangalore Air port on Wednesday, November 17.

"There will be no change in my leadership. The opposition parties, which are conspiring against me, will not succeed in their plans to destabilize my government. I will continue as chief minister for the remaining two and a half years," Yeddyurappa said.


He further said that he would clarify all the allegations of land scams that have been levelled against him. He said that  ‘I would reveal all cases of denotification in the past ten years, in front of the people of the State,” said Yeddyurappa before leaving for Puttur to distribute bonds and sarees to the entitled children and their mothers respectively. He will also participate in other functions to be held in Mangalore and Udupi.

 

Claiming that every inch of land purchased by his family was legal, he said that he was ready to face any trial. He also expressed willingness to request a former Supreme Court judge to investigate the case. Expressing hopes that the BJP government will be able to complete its 5-year term, he said that the party will have the support of 150 more MLAs in the following elections while the Congress will remain the opposition party for the next 15 – 20 years.


Further explaining the matter, he said that Eswarppa’s wife Jayalakshmi, son K. E. Kantesh, and daughter-in-law R. Shalini, all shareholders of Bharath Industries, applied for acquisition of KIADB land on Jan 12. Accordingly, the 2-acre plot in Dobbespet near Nelamangala was allotted to them within 24 days of receipt of the application. The KIADB has also allotted 7,682sq.ft. of land in Peenya Industrial Estate to Eshwarappa’s son, K. E. Kantesh and 11.20 acres in Kudutini, Bellary to Vishnupriya Enterprizes, a company in which G. H. Nirmal Kumar, son-in-law of Eshwarappa, has a partnership. 

 

Higher education minister V S Acharya, Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangalore south MLA Yogish Bhat, (MLA), District Incharge Minister Krishna J Palemar, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP  Sadananda Gowda and many BJP leaders were also present at the air port to welcome him.
