Ten personalities to receive ‘Sandesha Awards 2014’

Mangalore, Nov 29, 2013: Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education (R) will confer ‘Sandesha Awards 2014’ on ten personalities at a ceremony to be held at Sandesha, Bajjodi on January 15, 2014.
Addressing the media at the press meet held at Press Club on Nov 29, Friday, Fr Vijay Victor Lobo Director of Sandesha said that the Sandesha Kannada Literature Award will be conferred on Vaidehi, Sandesha Konkani Literature Award to Cyril G Sequiera, Sandesha Tulu Literature Award to Lalitha Rai, Sandesha Arts Award to BKS Verma, Sandesha Journalism Award to Abdul Rasheed, Sandesha Media award to B V Rajaram, Sandesha Film Award to P Sheshadri, Sandesha Best Teacher Award to Sr Irene Mascarenhas, Sandesha Special Recognition Award to Corrine Rasquinha of White Doves and Sandesha Konkani Music Award to Lawrence Saldanha.
Lobo also said that Archbishop Bangalore Bernard Moras, Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius P D Souza and Bishop of Bellary Henry D’Souza will participate in the event and confer the awards. Each award will comprise of Rs 10,000 cash prize, a citation, a shawl and a memento.
Dr Na D’Souza, Rev Mark Valder, Dr Na Damodar Shetty, Sara Abubakker, Chandrakala Nandavar, Richard Louis are the Juries of Sandesha Awards., while Rev Charles Vas, SVD, Joel Pereira and Concepta Fernandes are the Juries for Konkani Music.
Sandesha Jury Chair person Dr Na D’Souza, Sandesha foundation Trustee Roy Castelino, and Convener Titus Noronha were present.
