Ten Lakh worth Family Jewels stolen at Kadandale

Mangalore, May 14, 2014: Family of Pius Oswald Pinto of Poopadikallu in Kadandale within the limits of Paladka gram panchayat lost gold ornaments said to be of ten lakhs value. Local Police have received a complaint from Pius Oswald Pinto and his wife.

It is stated that they attended a ceremony prior to wedding (Roce) of a relative on the evening of Monday May 12 and returned home late at 11 PM at night. On awaking the next morning, they found two cupboards wide open and gold worth about 10 lakhs kept in the cupboard missing. However, cash and other valuables were intact.

A case has been registered at the local station and the matter is being investigated, finger print specialists and sniffer dogs have been pressed into action. The Police suspect the thieves managed to open the door from the nearby window with some tools and entered the room. The members in the house my have been in deep sleep.
