Superb dance performances at Yaya Ind-Ya Mayaya semi-finals

Mangalore, May 19, 2013: Five top performers in the duet and group categories  have entered the finals of the  ’Yaya Ind-Ya Mayaya’ Konkani dance contest. The semi-finals held at Kalangann here on May 18, Saturday, saw some breathtaking dance performances  by various teams.

The semi-final was inaugurated  by Ronald Mendonca, Governing Council Chairman of Kalaangann by unveiling the logo of ’Yaya Ind-Ya Mayaya’.   Gurkar Eric Ozario, Louis J Pinto, Roy Castelino, President of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, Stany Alvares, President of Mandd Sobhann and Avil D’Cruz from Nach Sobhann were also present.

Silver Steppers, Bejai, Mangalore were among the five teams that qualified for the finals in the group category, while in the duet category the pair of Gavin Rodrigues and Vaishnavi Pavithran of Mangalore also made it to the finals.

Other teams in group category which have been qualified for finals are were Adwitiya Dance Company, Vasai, Mumbai, Team Kayyar, Kasargod, Drishti Art Center, Bangalore and Nayana Prasanna & party, Kumta, Honnavar.

In the duet category, Akash Telgu & Aaditi Morajkar, Goa, Pavintha Monteiro & Puneeth Monteiro, Kasargod, Nayana Prasanna Prabhu & Shwetha Bilgikar, Kumta, Honnavar, Shilpa Gonsalves & Shwetha K Naik, Honnavar  also made it to the finals with their superb performances.

The finals will be held on May 19, Sunday at Kalangann.
