Sullia: Class 9 student dies of heart attack while being taken to hospital

Sullia, July 7, 2026: A 14-year-old Class 9 student from Karimbila in Edamangala village of Sullia taluk died of a heart attack while being rushed to hospital on the night of July 5.

The deceased has been identified as Shishil (14), a resident of Karimbila and a student of Ennur High School.

According to family sources, Shishil had been suffering from an illness for the past few days and had undergone treatment at hospitals in Kaniyoor, Puttur, and Mangaluru. As his condition did not improve, the family decided to shift him to a hospital in Bengaluru for advanced medical care and had planned to take him there on Monday, July 6.

However, on Sunday night, his condition suddenly deteriorated. He was immediately taken to a hospital in Puttur, but he suffered a heart attack and passed away on the way.

Shishil is survived by his parents and a brother. A bright student, he was actively involved in Yakshagana and theatre and was widely appreciated for his talent and enthusiasm.
