State BJP members have done nothing wrong – K. S. Eshwarappa

Mangalore, May 1, 2012 : In response to BJP National General Secretary Ananth Kumar’s statement that BJP members involved in court cases will not be given any posts, BJP State President K. S. Eshwarappa said that nobody has done anything wrong in the BJP’s state unit and that members involved in court cases cannot be considered guilty until proven so.

Assuming that Ananth Kumar spoke with reference to senior BJP leader Bangaru Lakshman being sentenced in a case of bribery, he expressed confidence that the BJP will win all six council seats.

Mr. Eshwarappa was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the preliminary meeting of the BJP Yuva Morcha (state unit) held at Jnana Mandir in Bappanadu in Mulky on April 30 Monday.

Speaking about the BJP’s plans for the future, he said that the party intends to enhance awareness regarding terrorism, religious conversion, Naxal menace, and attacks on places of worship. Accordingly, the party will organize a youth convention to enhance political awareness among the youth, he added.

Sunil Kumar, the president of the state unit of the BJP Yuva Morcha, said that Anurak Takor, the national president of the BJP, and Narendra Modi, the CM of Gujarath, will participate in the BJP youth convention o be held in Mangalore on May 22 Tuesday. Stating that the event is meant exclusively for youth below the age of 30, he said that the organizers expect 1.5 lakh young people to turn up. The event will be publicized through rathotsavas that are scheduled to be held in four districts on May 14 Monday.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Padmanabha Kottari, Banoo Prakash, Prasad Karwarkar, and many other BJP leaders were present on this occasion.

Mr. Eshwarappa told media persons that the BJP high command has to choose a candidate for the Mulky – Moodubidri polls. He also hinted that the high command might choose MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He also informed that a BJP delegation led by CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda will go to New Delhi to urge the union government to release funds to deal with the drought in several parts of the state.
