St. Christopher Association celebrates annual feast

Mangalore, Aug 7: The annual feast and general body meeting of the Mangalore-based St. Christopher Association was held on Aug 7 Sunday. 

Msgr. Denis Prabhu, the vicar general of Mangalore Diocese, was the chief celebrant of the mass. The vehicles of the members of St. Christopher Association were blessed after mass.

The general body meeting of the association was held in Rosario Cultural Hall. The chief guest was Dr. Edward Nazareth, an orthopedic surgeon. Msgr. Denis Prabhu presided over the programme.
Thirteen children of the members of the association were felicitated for their academic achievements. Besides, four members of the association were also felicitated. 

Dr. Edward Nazareth, Agnel Rodrigues, Raisa Annica D’Souza, and Royston Pinto were also honored in recognition and appreciation of their achievements. Dr. Edward Nazareth had recently won the Konkani Sahitya Academy Award for literature, Agnel Rodrigues had won the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Award for media, Raisa had secured I Rank in BSW, and Royston Pinto had won 2 gold medals in the Special Olympic held at Athens in Greece. 

President Sushil Noronha delivered the welcome address, Secretary Victor Menezes read the annual report, and Vice President Francis D’Souza presented the annual accounts. 

Fr. Stany Goveas, the vicar of Rosario Cathedral and spiritual director of St. Christopher Association, was one of the dignitaries on the dais. 

Harold D’Souza, the assistant secretary of the association, proposed the vote of thanks. Victor Vas was the MC.
