Special express train to run between Bengaluru Cantonment and Madgaon

Bantwal, September 29, 2026: To cater to the expected increase in passenger traffic during the weekend, South Western Railway will operate a one-trip special express train between Bengaluru Cantonment and Madgaon.

Train No. 06597 Bengaluru Cantonment–Madgaon Special Express will depart from Bengaluru Cantonment at 11.50 pm on October 1 (Thursday) and arrive at Madgaon at 6.10 pm on October 2 (Friday).

On the return journey, Train No. 06598 Madgaon–Bengaluru Cantonment Special Express will depart from Madgaon at 8.40 am on October 4 (Sunday) and reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 11.55 pm the same day.

Stops including Bantwal

The special train will halt at SMVT Bengaluru, Chikkabanavara, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, Ankola, Karwar and Canacona in both directions.

23-coach train

The special train will comprise 23 coaches, including one AC 2-Tier coach, three AC 3-Tier coaches, 10 Sleeper Class coaches, seven General Second Class coaches and two Second Class-cum-Luggage and Brake Van coaches with facilities for passengers with disabilities.

South Western Railway Hubballi Division Chief Public Relations Officer Dr Manjunath Kanamadi said the details in a press release.
