Mangalore, Mar 5, 2013: International Women’s Day was celebrated by the Spandana Trust at the Infant Mary’s Convent, Sisters of Charity, Jeppu on March 5, Tuesday. Prof. Anasuya Kamath inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, she said empowerment of women will go a long way in helping women fight atrocities. It is good education that can empower the women and make them confident to face problems boldly, she added.
Sr Tulia Pais, Principal, presided over the function. Rekha Shetty, advocate, gave a talk on the occasion.
Sr Evangeline from Infant Mary’s Convent and others were present. A variety of cultural programmes were presented as part of the celebrations.
